About Hatha Yoga
The word “hatha” can be translated two ways: as “willful” or “forceful,” or the yoga of activity, and as “sun” (ha) and “moon” (tha), the yoga of balance. Hatha practices are designed to align and calm your body, mind, and spirit in preparation for meditation.
Hatha yoga is a powerful tool for self-transformation. It asks us to bring our attention to our breath, which helps us to still the fluctuations of the mind and be more present in the unfolding of each moment.
It’s a mixed level class, all levels are welcome. Options will be provided for different bodies.
About Vinyasa Yoga
The term vinyāsa refers to the harmonious coordination of eyes (drṣṭị ), body movements (karaṇa), postural alignments (āsana) and breath (prāṇāyāma).
It's a method which turns static Yoga postures into a dynamic flow. Generally the length of an inhalation or exhalation dictates the duration of movements between a posture to the next one.
Poses (āsana) are held for a predefined number of breaths. Vinyāsa applies a relaxed but sound diaphragmatic respiration known as ujjāyī prāṇāyāma.
The whole practice creates internal heat which through increased circulation and sweating, detoxifies and strengthens the whole body.
