Lauren began her pre-professional dance training at Hong Kong Youth Ballet Academy at the age of ten. Quickly progressing through the ranks, she placed in competitions like the Asian Grand Prix and performed soloist roles with the school. Lauren also trained in contemporary, jazz, and musical theatre under Giselle Liu and Amity Dance. She has performed at fashion shows, dance competitions and fundraising galas across Hong Kong, with further performance opportunities from the Hong Kong Youth Arts Foundation.

After moving to Canada for university, Lauren continued to compete and choreograph with the Queen’s Competitive Dance Team for two years. Her pieces ‘GIMME ALL YOUR LOVE’ and the self-choreographed solo ‘Is it Any Wonder?’ have earned top awards at regional competitions. At the same time, she taught advanced ballet technique classes at Queen’s Dance Club, the largest student-run dance network in Canada and choreographed for a production of the Rocky Horror Picture Show.

Lauren’s contemporary classes encourage her students to develop their own style while drawing on her own unique movement vocabulary ranging from jazz funk to ballet.
