Faculty

Born in Hong Kong, Cybil started ballet at the age of 3 at Jean M. Wong School of Ballet where she began to perform and received Tsinform C. Wong Memorial Scholarship to participate in scholar class. She performed alongside Moravian Philharmonic Orchestra and danced leading roles at the International New Year Night Parades. She began her vocational dance training at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts and was the recipient of HKSAR Government Scholarship Fund Reaching Out Award in 2014.

Cybil graduated from Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance in the UK with Bachelor of Arts (Hons) under the direction of Ross McKim and Amanda Britton. During her studies, she worked with different teachers and choreographers and has performed in Mark Baldwin’s “The Creation” and Antonia Franceschi’s “Hear The Stars” in Sadler’s Wells Theatre, London.

To further enrich her knowledge in dance Cybil has participated in Batholin International Ballet Seminar, Joffrey Intensives, Gaga Intensives and Les Étés de la Danse Alvin Ailey. She has also performed internationally in Alvin Ailey’s “Revelation” in Paris, “Crash Rhythm” by Tyler Gilstrap in New York, “Bolero” by Bradley Shelver in Copenhagen and "A Thousand Shepherds" by Jose Agudo in Hong Kong.

Cybil has recently presented her own work “A Piece of Cake” in the Hong Kong International Choreography Festival 2018 and assisted the creation of “everything that rises must dance” by Sasha Milavic Davies and Lucy Railton in Hong Kong Arts Festival 2019.

With her enthusiasm, Cybil has also trained in jazz, hip-hop, ballroom and Chinese dance for 6 years. She also became a certified yoga teacher (RYT-200hr) under the guidance of Patrick Creelman and Rinat Perlman. Her diverse experiences have made her teaching style friendly and approachable to students of different backgrounds.
